Work is considered late if it is not turned in at the beginning of the class on the day it is due. If late work is turned in, it will be graded and the grade will be lowered ten percent for each day it is late for five consecutive school days. On the sixth day the grade is reported as zero.
Topics:
Introduction to Chemistry
Matter and Change
Scientific Measurement
Atomic Structure
Electrons in Atoms
The Periodic Table
Ionic and Metallic Bonding
Covalent Bonding
Chemical Names and Formulas
Chemical Quantities
Chemical Reactions
Stoichiometry
States of Matter
Behavior of Gases
Thermo chemistry
Reaction Rates and Equilibrium
Acids, Bases, Salts
Basic Organic Chemistry
IMPORTANT!
It is imperative that you keep up with class work! Everything you learn will build upon what you learned previously. There will never be a time when you can forget what you learned and expect to succeed. There are certain concepts that are used all through the year. You must achieve a quiz grade of 75% or better on these concepts. Quizzes will be retaken until competency is attained.
